Halkidiki - Porto Sani Village and Spa - Comments and Remarks

Staff Familiarisation Trip Write Up

Day 1

We flew to Thessaloniki from London Gatwick with Easyjet this was our first experience with Easyjet and I must say it was a very good one the plane was immaculate and the staff were very pleasant, we would highly recommend pre-booking and paying for the Speedy boarding which enables you to board and pick your seat first, otherwise it can be a bit of a mad scramble!

On arrival we were greeted by our friendly driver who transferred us over to our home for the next 3 nights which was the 5* Porto Sani Village. Here we were met by the friendly reception staff and given a glass of champagne while we completed our check-in, which is done in a very relaxed and informal manner. We were then shown to our "Standard" suites which are by no means "Standard" the suite consisted of a large living area, a double/twin bedroom and a huge bathroom complete with whirlpool bath and walk-in shower, both the living area and bedroom have patio doors which open out onto your very own balcony or terrace which have garden or pool views.

This afternoon we met with Sophia & Andreas from the Sales & Marketing department, to take a site inspection of the Porto Sani village and marina area. We took the opportunity to see a family suite, which consisted of a large living area and 2 well sized bedrooms both with en-suite and tv's. The marina is located through a small walkway, here you will find a number of shops bars and restaurants, some of which are featured in the Dine around option available to guests. On the marina you will also find the Marina suites which are still part of the Porto Sani Village but with full views of the Sani Marina, From the marina we took a walk over to the Sani Asterias suites, this took us about 5 minutes.

The Sani Asterias suites is the boutique style hotel it's reception is gated to ensure exclusive access to Asterias Suites guests only. We were able to look at a Standard Beachfront suite which has a large living area and double bedroom and is also big enough to accomodate up to 2 cots, both the living area and bedroom have patio doors which open out onto a generous sized garden area overlooking the beach.

Tonight we enjoyed a lovely greek meze at the Psaroyannos Ouzerie located on Sani Marina, well worth a visit during your stay!

Day 2

We had breakfast this morning at Sani Asterias suites in the Water Restaurant, here you have a choice of both buffet and waiter service. The staff here were very professional but also very friendly, the standard of the food here was excellent and somehow they manage to create a certain ambience which makes you feel very at ease.

From here we took the very short walk over to the Sani Beach Hotel, on first impression, we were impressed with the ground's and lovely pool area. We took a walk round the hotel taking a look at the spa and the buffet restaurants> We were then taken to see a Sea Front Junior suite, which is a good sized room & would accommodate upto 4 people comfortably with the living area and sleeping area in the same room, the patio doors open out onto a private garden which has direct access to the "quiet beach".
We then took a short walk down to Melissa Children's Club which is located just across the way from the recetion area at Sani Beach Hotel.

After this we took a drive over to the Oceania Club and Spa which is located in the resort of Nea Moudania,it's about a 30 minute drive from the Sani Resort. We had lunch there, at the Thalassa Restaurant, which is buffet style and offers a huge range of choice. We then took a walk around the property, taking a look at the spa facilities which includes an indoor pool, the a la carte restaurant's which are included in the All Inclusive programme and the kids club which we must say we were most imprssed with, they even have indoor slides/adventure playground area! We got then took a look at a Standard Sea view room, which again was a very good size and could quite easily accomodate up to 3 people. We also had a look at a Deluxe Junior suite which is a larger room with a living area & will sleep up to 4. Guests staying in a deluxe room category also get express check-in/check-out service, turn down service and use of the exclusive pool area. There is also a children's pool in the privilege section.

Tonight, we ate in the Olympus Restaurant at the Sani Beach Club, this is buffet-style, and again, very good selection to suit all ages and taste!

Day 3

Today is our day to explore the resort on our own. After breakfast in the Artemis Restaurant at Porto Sani Village, we took a stroll round the Sani Marina taking a look at the shops. We then headed over to the Sani Beach Club. We decided to walk over to the Beach Club which is accessable via the beach, this took about 10 minutes to walk, you can also get there by road, but we would recommend taking the complimentary shuttle bus. This route  runs every 20 minutes around the hotels in the resort. Before heading to the spa, for our facials, we had lunch at the Ouzerie, based at the Beach club, and also one of the restaurants featured on the 'Dine Around' programme, very tasty!  After a very relaxing treatment, we headed back over to the Porto Sani, to get ready for our final evening. Tonight we ate in the Veranda Restaurant at the Sani Beach Hotel which is one of the 2 buffet style restaurant's at the Sani Beach Hotel, this restaurant is exclusive to guests over the age of 12 years.

All in all we very much enjoyed our trip to the Sani Resort and hope to return in the future for our own holidays!
