Kos Greece

One of Greece's smaller islands, but it's definately a case of good things come in small packages. Probably less renowned for it's beaches, the island of Kos still has a few spectacular beaches, the most popular being Paradise Beach, with natural hot springs that rise up from the seabed, it's usually called more appropriately' Bubble beach.'

Kos Town, the capital, isn't without it's own history, it boasts an impressive harbour thats guarded by the Crusader Castle, which datesback to the 14th Century.

Boats leave regularly to the neighbouring islands of Kalymnos & Rhodes, and even to Bodrum in Turkey. Visit Platanos square in the town, where it's believed Hippocrates taught under the Plane Tree, considered to be the oldest in Europe!

Kardamena is probably considered the busiest resort, with a beautiful, long sandy beach, that stretches across the whole of the resort. By rule of thumb, the further south you travel the better the beach on Kos, travelling south from Kardamena will bring you to the quieter resort of Kefalos, more suited for families & those looking for a less hectic holiday.

Best For:
*Beaches - Kefalos, visit the wonderful 'Bubble beach' and catch a boat from Kardamena
*Nightlife - Kardamena or Kos Town
*Food & Drink - Kardamena has got some of the best restaurants & tavernas in Greece.
