It has been another challenging week in the travel industry with the failure of Kiss Airlines. We had several bookings for flights with them and the clients have now been rebooked on alternative holidays.  It does serve as a reminder to clients to book using a reputable ABTA/ATOL agent and whilst we have no control over the failure of airlines or tour operators, we can use our knowledge and expertise in times of crisis, we offer competitive prices, and the reassurance that we will help you to recover your money and rebook your travel arrangements.  Sadly clients who   book direct find that there is no support from the online agents who are difficult to contact in the event of a problem with the booking and should their business fail are impossible to deal with.

On the brighter side of our business this week, we have been busy working on our team development programme and are now working with a travel training company who will be supporting the team as we all undertake customer service NVQs along with administration NVQs for our administration team.  Whilst many of our staff has been in the travel industry for many years, some have joined Miss Ellies straight from school and whilst they are highly skilled travel consultants, with experience and knowledge, until now, there has been no formal certificate.  Training for Travel has offered our team the chance to gain certification for their skills thereby gaining recognition for the jobs they do on a daily basis.

We had 2 more significant birthdays this week, Hannah turned 21 and Eileen celebrated her 65th birthday naturally we celebrated both with a night out, congratulations Eileen and Hannah!!

I am taking a week off with my son this week.  We are staying at home this week as we only returned from Jersey in July, which was a fantastic trip with great weather.  Unfortunately it appears that our summer may be over, so if you have time for a last minute holiday, we can offer a wide selection of breaks, near and far…give us a call, we look forward to hearing from you.
